Block Rose was named after a beautiful and colorful woman, Marie-Rose. In 1979, Marie-Rose took over Munchenhof from her parents. Munchenhof became her life’s work. She expanded the business from a café to a venue with a banquet hall and bowling alley. The banquet hall transformed into a renowned discotheque in the entire region. The limited number of guest rooms also expanded to become a full-fledged hotel. After some time, Marie-Rose took the initiative to welcome English schoolchildren, showcasing her spontaneity, creativity, and tremendous enthusiasm for work and life. She was cherished by all her customers and others for her many strengths. Unfortunately, after a prolonged illness, she was taken from us much too soon. Mrs. Ghekiere Marie-Rose was born on May 25, 1941, and passed away on June 23, 2008.
